KWPolar Plunge in Review & Other Fun Stuff

Gosh, where do I start!?

Let’s break the ice with 1 week ago today at the KWPolar Plunge at Waterloo Town Square.

As you know, I’m first and foremost a wedding photographer in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.  However, I have a super soft spot for the community and the events that go on to support it.  In the past year, I’ve supported and photographed over 12 local Kitchener-Waterloo  events including: Eff Winter Party, Sip4Hope, Steel Rails, TEDxWaterloo, Studio54, Lipsmacker Bushwacker, The Brush Off and now the KWPolar Plunge.  I gotta say, the KWPolar Plunge is the most impressive.

Why?  Something you should know about this event is that it was literally planned with a handful of people with a tight timeline.  We all have full time jobs, yet pulled together to make something happen for a great local initiative:  KidsAbility and from what I understand we’ve raised over $1000 (I’m told we’re still calculating the online donations).  Personally, this event surprised me and completely blew me out of the water;)

You can read about how this all started on Spike Mobile’s blog post as well as a list of our amazing sponsors who made this possible.

Another shout-out goes to these lovely ladies:  The AcaBellas.  They are an all female A Capella Group who keep things “sassy, classy and sweet.”  Check them out!!  Here’s their YouTube channel  (my personal fav:  Afternoon Delight).

In the meantime, whether you were there or missed it you can enjoy some of the epic dive moments that follow:

Things are calming down since the KWPolar Plunge and now we can get back to our regularly scheduled blog posts.  While I work on typing those up, you can enjoy these teaser photos as a sampler of what’s to come:
