Photographer Shootout

I know I’m overdue for a blog post, so here’s a quickie to tie you over till I get my next one done….

Waaaay back in July, which doesn’t seem so long ago….Melanie Moore of Split Second Photography and Lasha of Eye Candy Photo and myself got together for a bit of a sunset shootout.

The idea was to meet, greet and shoot head shots of each other.  In our line of work, it’s not everyday you get an amazing photo of yourself because you’re the one taking the amazing photos.  Instead, I find that my personal “head shot” collection is more photos of me working than me looking good.  Not this time…..Melanie and Lasha did a great job making feel like a rock star!

I even got out Orange Chair #2 for this shoot, loaded it into the back of my roomy Matrix and carried it into the field.  It was my prop and an awesome one at that!  Take a look at what Lasha and Melanie did here:

First up – Lasha’s adorable take:

…and Melanie somehow captures the softer side of me…apparently, this is possible!?:

Lastly, here’s what I captured from these lovely ladies:

And this was too cute NOT to post:

I think it’s kind of cool to see all our styles here in one post and realize just how different we all shot.

It was so much fun to work with these girls and I CANNOT wait to do it again on October 17th.  In fact, it’s so much fun that I’d love for other photographers to come out and join us next time.  If you’re a photographer and interested in having your free headshot taken, free networking and just having free fun with people who love the same photo-taking things as you, let me know and I’ll fill you in the details.

Ema - You KNOW I’m definitely interested in the shoot! But somehow I forgot it was on the 17th and ended up booking a shoot on that day! :( :( :(
I alwayyyys end up doing this when I don’t look at my calendar. My life is planned out on a hour-to-hour basis it seems.

The shots look great, though! Love the green and the softness of the focus. PS. Loving my 50mm f/1.8
