When Carrie Tibbs of Beauty Marked (http://www.beautymarked.ca) and Rachelle, model and hair stylist extraordinare, asked me to meet them for coffee to discuss a creative shoot in February, I had no idea what I was getting myself in to! After hours and hours of sitting in a dimly lit coffee shop, snacking, brainstorming and giggling we finally came up with an idea that blew us out of the water and so we called ourselves the Dream Team! What follows this are photos of our vision come to life. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we enjoyed creating them.
A BIG thank you goes out to Amanda and Harold of the Frederick Street Inn, B&B Accommodations (http://www.frederickstreetinn.ca) for their hospitality and sense of humour. If you are looking for a Bed & Breakfast in the Kitchener, Ontario, I highly recommend this location. The Frederick Street Inn is gorgeous and full of character.

After the Bed & Breakfast, we headed north to the Atlanta Motel in Orangeville for a more dusty vintage look. We got there just as the sun was setting which lit the room in a warm glow giving amazing results!

Michael Sage - Very generous of you to share your photographic life like this. A couple of the girl-with-cards shots are startling real and immediate. The Vanessa shots are of a style that I find false and unhuman (but that could just be my age showing).
Would I be prying to ask if you are using softbox strobes for the interior shots?
Anyway, you are a huge talent.

No lights or strobes are used. I mostly rely on natural light and a fast lens or two.
I will avoid flash for as long as possible.
Also, I assure you that Vanessa is human.
